Visiting Rece and Carmine was so much fun! The kids were all very good and had a lot of fun! They played and played! Averie could barely sleep in til 7am because the toys were calling her name (she slept in the play room)! But made it up this morning by sleeping in til almost 8:30am! She woke up at 7 and said "Happy Birthday to me" a couple times and fell back to sleep! It was pretty cute! So we had a big breakfast, thanks to daddy! Averie and I are playing and Baylor is sleeping and daddy is working on the floors! We will be staying in all day today because we got an inch or so of ice! They are also predicting 1-3 inches of snow tonight. This week will be a busy week. Swimming refreshers Monday and maybe Tuesday. Dentist for mama and daddy Tuesday. Eye Dr. Wednesday (mama). Everdry Thursday. Jett starts Friday!!! And hair cut next Monday (mama). Next week is Jett's first full week here and Averie's b-day is the 10th!!!! CRAZY busy weeks ahead!!!

Averie is feeling a lot better today. She hasn't gotten sick since Saturday and has been starting to eat a little more at meals. She is still being picky about what she does eat, but that's okay. She is probably not quite ready to dive back in to her usual appetite! We painted today and will hopefully be well enough to go outside Wednesday or Thursday. We are supposed to get 4-8 inches by Wednesday! I really need boots for her though...I may have to go looking again one of these days!

Well, here are the few pics I managed to take today. Averie is 23 months today. I just thought of that! We lounged around today. Both kids took great naps. Averie-3.5 hours. Baylor-2 were more than 2 hours each and one was about 45 minutes. Which would explain his crankiness this evening after dinner. Averie hasn't gotten sick since this morning. She had an egg and applesauce for lunch and star soup and a little milk for dinner. We'll see how her appetite is in the morning. I hope she is on the way to recovery. Tomorrow, we'll be staying in, no church, no nothing. Daddy only works til 5pm. So at least that is a positive. And I think Grandma and Grandpa are coming over! So, we'll at least have some company tomorrow!

All in all the appointment went well. He was napping when we got there and woke up to flirt and smile during the check-up! He was only 4 oz. bigger than Averie and 3/4 of an inch longer than her at 4 months! So he is mostly just longer. I think that is why his legs don't look at chubby! But he is growing good she said. She also said we could start cereal whenever we want to. We will probably not even start it until after the next appointment which is at 6 months. Unless of course he needs the extra food. But he is sleeping through the night 75% of the time and taking 3 naps regularly...so I think we are just fine for now! I'd rather add an extra nursing time than start cereal. We need to get a high chair and all the stuff that goes with cereal feeding. I am definitely not ready for the extra preparation just yet! :o) As for everything else, he screamed after the shots were pretty much over, has 3 bandaids and nursed and slept a lot yesterday. He also woke up at 3am (I let him settle himself back down) and 4:30am (I got him and fed him in my bed) and put him back in his crib at 6:30am (he slept until about 7:30am-which is his awake time in the morning)! So, he was just a little extra fussy. Today, so far so good. We did the pictures and he just went down for a nap a little bit ago. I expect a fairly normal day today. He also has officially moved into his room at night. He has slept 3 nights in there so far. Twice though I have gotten up in the morning and he is all the way against the bumper trying to eat it. So, I am torn about removing it. I obviously don't want him to have trouble breathing if he gets himself over there in the middle of the night, but I don't want him bonking his head either? Anyone have any suggestions about that one? I don't remember when I took it out for Averie...I know it wasn't this early because she was rolling to her stomach by this age to sleep (all on her own).

While on the subject of Averie...she has just started medicine for her "poop" problems. Some of you already know that she has been having a hard time going #2...well we've tried more veggies, less dairy, prunes, more fiber and well nothing has helped. So I called the doc and they put her on a powdered stool softener. So, we are waiting for her #2's to be easier to pass and for her to not be afraid to push her poops out! So, we will see how this stuff works. We have enough to last like a year. Cross your fingers!

So, that's all that's going on for now...we are going to have a calm weekend in. Maybe I will get out and get some b-day shopping done for Averie (that is if grandma has nothing to do Saturday afternoon...he he)! Daddy works, and with the cold weather still around, it'll be church and that's about it for going anywhere! I wish we'd get some snow and some 30 degree weather so Averie and I could build a snowman! But I guess we should have snow boots for Averie before we do that...anyone know where I can buy some? All I can find are bathing suits and sun dresses and flip flops. No boots anywhere...I did find a really cute pair of ballet flats for Averie yesterday. They were on sale for $12.99 and I had a $10 off coupon! Talk about a deal! :o) Well, that sums up our last few days of excitement! We'll try to post this weekend. Maybe we'll do a photo shoot. We haven't done one of those with both kids in a while. We'll see what we can do!

BEDTIME & DUCKS

They both had their ducks on the other night for bed so they sat in Averie's chair for a picture!

We've had a pretty calm weekend...Target on Saturday, for diapers and lunch. Then as we're heading outside from Target, we realize that the snow is blowing sideways. I had to turn around and head back inside because Baylor's blanket was blowing (I couldn't hold it, his seat and push the cart). So good thing I gave Matt one of Baylor's blankets for over Averie's head because they braved the crazy wind (and cold and snow) and brought the car around! That was our adventure for Saturday...today we went to church and lunch up town and now we're home for the night! We are having football food for dinner- meatballs, lil' weiners, subs, veggie's with dip, chips with salsa and brownies if I get around to making them. Not that I'll splurge...ok, maybe a little! Well, I will try to get a few pics tonight during the Superbowl of the kids, since it is Baylor's 4 month b-day and it's been a couple of days since I took pictures!

We also can't go outside to play because all the snow blew away and it is ridiculously cold and the field across the street brought dirt everywhere in place of the snow. It is absolutely gross in our yard. But we did get a good deal on a snowsuit for Averie...at Once Upon A Child, we got a L.L. Bean, 3T, pink snowsuit with a polar bear on it for $12. It looks like it was washed maybe 2 times. Very good find!!

THE MANY FACES OF AVERIE & BAYLOR

Just some goofy pics we took this weekend!



We had a good weekend, even though daddy had to work. We spent time with grandma and grandpa and pretty much stayed in with the exception of church on Sunday morning! The only plans we have this week are a trip to the mall with Aunt Shawna and baby Jett. And lunch with G.G. and grandma! So, it should be a quiet week. I am really wanting to take Averie to story time at one of the two libraries close by, but we haven't been able to make it just yet. Maybe tomorrow, we'll see! Since the weather has actually been winter-like we just don't like to go out as much. It can't be fun for the kids to get all bundled up and carted around in the freezing temps. So, we'll stick to less trips and more play-time at home! For now! We get out occasionally. It will be a much needed trip to the mall this week though, Averie has decided to grow since before Christmas so anything 18 months is too small. She can wear 18-24 months stuff, but I will only be buying her 2T shirts from now on. They are big, but in a good way! And she has plenty of pants. She needs long sleeve and short sleeve (I can layer the short sleeve) shirts! She got a few things for Christmas, but a lot was the wrong size and stuff. So, I have a lot of store credits to spend. And a couple gift cards. So, it shouldn't be an expensive mall outing, just productive!!! I also found some adorable tennis shoes for Averie at Gap which I will be trying and hopefully buying! Gap also has really cute play clothes for summer. I won't be buying them just yet, but have my eye on their comfy shorts and leggings and ribbed tank tops! I also do like the Converse® All Star® hi-top sneekers! Super cute! So, we'll see what I end up buying this week. Maybe we'll do a fashion show! That's all I have for now...more later this week. If we'd get more than .9" of snow, we'd be able to make a snowman for you. Hopefully before winter is over!!!

PLAY!

Averie playing on the play equipment at an indoor playground place! She loved it and was great about staying on the smaller stuff while I fed Baylor! She was a great at climbing the plank walk and going down that slide...while I was within her reach! In the next pic, you can see how big some of the stuff was! Not really her speed! But she did good! And thankfully it was not so busy (this place opens up every Monday and Friday for an hour in the morning and lets kids play for free)! We had a great time!

There were other playsets even bigger than this one. It will be fun for her in a couple of years for sure. A great place to come in the winter to get out energy!



The cool looking sky on the way to my mom's last week (I was stopped at a stop sign, don't worry people)! It was not snowing until I got to this point on the road. You could actually see the snow in the distance! It was cool!



The stroller arrived. So far, we love it! We took it up to the GAP outlet...to Target...and have pushed it around the house! :o)

FAMILY REUNION

Averie got an Anne Geddes baby butterfly at the gift exchange at the family reunion. It is so sweet looking!
